(Sep 22nd: Me weed whacking for our domestic ministry organization in North Carolina. Arms are dead after 4 about consecutive hours. Kutos to all outdoor workers!)

(Sep 21st: In a North Carolina small town. The girls stopped for coffee. We decided to take a team picture! My team will work on the field with me the most intimately! Left to right: Ella, Holly, Abby, Rissa, Skylar our leader, Me)

(Sep 17th: At the top of Mount Yonah in Georgia! My first time sleeping on the top of a hiking mountain. We stayed overnight and descended at 6am, making a detour at Chik-fil-A! Zoey in the front, Me, Rissa beside me)

(Sep 15th: At training camp during a bonding worship/hangout for the girls. We all dressed up in our skirts and had an amazing time of praising the Lord. Some girls also humbly shared their raw, authentic and personal testimonies. What a blessing to know these girls so well already!)

(Sep 16th: At the campfire with friends after a long day of training camp. Or should I say, with family! One of the guys even created a rice concoction in a skillet over the fire-But I had already brushed my teeth. Yet I enjoyed the company so much more!)

(Sep 17th: Also on top of Mount Yonah!
Left to right: Mia, Caroline, Rissa, Meridyth, Naomi, Me, Ellie at the bottom.)

(Sep 17th: The van ride to North Carolina! We traveled about 3 hours to Adventures Rellief base in North Carolina. Adventures Relief in Asheville, North Carolina has a to mission create relationships by providing hope and assistance following the destruction of hurricane Helene.

(Sep 23rd: Mid work day at Adventures Relief in North Carolina! Random selfie moment with Rissa and Holly in the background!)

In the midst of changing locations from training camp to domestic ministry in North Carolina, there have been beautiful moments but also new challenges. Physically, our work is much more demanding but is less taxing mentally. My team has been assigned work like weed whacking and power washing tables and insulating an underground box.

It is important to note, however, that the food here is abundant and delicious! We often have dessert and we often have leftovers which we distribute later. We even have hot water for tea! (A rarity during training camp.)

I want to thank all my partners who have helped me reach this step in the mission. I anticipate the upcoming day when we’ll leave the United States and fly out to Africa! Yet, I cherish the moments  the Lord has given me already.

  • In light of the change in work style, I would appreciate prayers for physical strength and health.
  • Lastly, I would love prayer for a spiritual softness. As physical work has increased and we have change locations, I sense a tension in my heart between loving others well and attempting to complete work quickly.

Thank you all!

With care, Lia.
