Some Important Information: While I am in Eswatini, I will be rarely reachable by phone. Yet, Lord willing, I will have occasional access to connection allowing me to communicate and/or blog infrequently. Thank you!

My team and I worked in North Carolina as shown in my previous blog photo album. While there, we weed whacked, power washed tables and cut up 125 lbs of onions (along with other produce)! That memory makes me tear up just to think about.

I learned so much more about how my teammates function and desire to be treated while working alongside them in the yard or in the kitchen. We also learned the importance of seeking each other out and checking in with one another regularly. This allows us to support and love each other in a more Christlike manner. While it is not easy, seeking each other out and checking in is so crucial to reflect Christ not only at home but in other countries!

Upon returning to Georgia from North Carolina, I have had time to reflect on my time at training camp. I learned to actively recognize the voice of the Holy Spirit, to love the Lord with more dependence and to act and think with greater humility.
Yet, there are moments where I am not intentional to seek the Lord, resulting in unnecessary stress and confusion. I long to keep creating that intentional space to speak and ponder alongside my Lord. I also long to create intentional space for others to speak and ponder with. In this way, I can draw near to the Father while drawing nearer to others; even on the other side of the globe.

Please keep praying for me specifically for:

  • Smooth and safe travel days (October 4th-6th)
  • Prepared mind and heart arriving in Africa to serve the adults and numerous children there! (We will primarily serve and play with the children after school!)

Many blessings,

Lia.

  1. Safe travels🙏. It sounds like already this experience has enriched your personal walk with God and knowing that will continue. I love the way you are getting to know your team and aware of their personalities and needs. I can’t wait to read all about Africa especially the love you give and receive from the children ❣️

  2. I was thinking about Africa when you sent your text this morning of soon to board. Safaris and the African jungle itself seemed so inviting and adventurous! Even though I know your time there will be totally different with life-changing challenges and new adventures.
These friends you are making now will last a lifetime ♥️🙏
    Love Grammie

  3. May God continue to bless you, guide you, and keep you safe and healthy on this journey that He has chosen for you. I am praying for you, Lia.
    Love always,

  4. Lia, you truly are an inspiration to us all. Your faith is strong and you are more courageous than you may think. It’s not just saying, “I can do this!” ( that’s self confidence) Rather real courage is “this is more important than me. It comes from wanting something more than your own safety. Your choices in life exude all of this.
    ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

  5. Hello Lia Fox, I am praying for you and the team daily. Praying for those you serve to respond to the faith God gives them. I can’t wait for your next Blog!

I am so excited you are here! I am taking this trip to learn more fully how to obey Christ though serving. While in high school, I felt a calling on my heart to do the extraordinary. The Lord taught me not to fear the challenges stemming from sharing my love of Christ. I expect to be challenged while on this trip in numerous ways. Yet, I am fully willing to give my energy, love and life. The Lord is teaching me to give with all of my heart. I am now taking my next steps to show compassion to the people around me and around the world. Thank you, Lord, for World Race!
