Not Far Away
Jeremiah 23:23-24 “Am I a God at hand, declares the Lord and not a God far away? Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? Declares the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? Declares the Lord.”
Ministry is Honduras looks like:
7:00 Breakfast
8:45 Morning Devos
9:00-1:00 Morning work
1:00 Lunch
2:00-5:00 Evening work
7:00 Supper/Team Time
7:45 Night Devos
Morning work and evening work changes every day but include house visits, construction, animal care and hosting VBS/women’s classes! We have VBS for the local kids every Saturday and women’s classes on Fridays. We also host a church service at 9:30 on Sunday morning!
Our ministry is meaningful, intentional and beautiful. The Catracho missions staff assure that everything we do is led by intentionality which leads to real change. One of the biggest things that we have seen the Lord do through our ministry is opening up the hearts of the local women in the community to seek the Lord. During house visits we always invite the family to church, VBS and women’s classes. And many of those people have been invited for years by the Catracho team but haven’t ever accepted an invitation. But we see many of these women come to church and the kids to VBS! Last week, we had over 120 kids show up to a VBS! That is a significantly larger number than the Catracho team has ever had before!

I get the privilege of translating during some of our activities, whether formally or just in conversation. I’ve had the opportunity to translate our Gospel skit 3 times in three different schools! It is one of my great joys to be able to bridge the gap using my Spanish skills!

Lastly, I will return to the US on April 29th and will stay in Georgia for a couple days before resuming domestic disaster relief missions in North Carolina for one week. Following that, we head back to Georgia again for less than a week until our final day on May 13th.
I will be flying home on May 13th into Boston! This transition back into the US will not be easy but I am so thankful to have all of you lifting me up to the Father! I need your prayers and you have mine!
Please pray for:
-
Guidance, wisdom and peace in my heart as I prepare to return to the USA and return to New Hampshire with my family and friends!
-
The Holy Spirit to lead me and open the doors to where He wants me to go after returning home!
-
Me and my Squad to leave nothing undone in our couple weeks or so together. (Both in Honduras and in the US!)
Please thank the Lord for:
-
Reminding me of his love for me which does not depend on anything I do or don’t do!
-
Every moment in the past 7 months of loving, learning, changing, hurting, experiencing, rejoicing and growing and more.
From your sister in Christ,
Lia.
