Sam

(March 12: El, Sam, Me, Dad and Mom at a restaurant. El is the eldest child at 15 years old and her younger sister is 9. Our two little friends are sweet girls who do not attend school and have very little literacy. They sell lollipops for 1Q (15c) to try to buy food and bus fare for their stay-at-home mom and other three siblings. My parents and I had the beautiful opportunity to let these girls be little girls, even for an hour. We fed them, laughed with them, prayed over them and did their hair. I’ve spent the past week creating a relationship with them and have had the chance to read scripture to them, pray for them and hug them over and over again. My heart burns for these little girls and it was absolutely priceless to see my parents burn for them too with utter affection and righteous anger at the unfair situation they are in. The Lord has the girls’ hearts and I trust the Holy Spirit will water the seeds we planted.)

Table and sam

(March 12th: Another picture with El and Sam!)

PVT was one of the most beautiful weeks on the Race and I am trusting that the Lord will water what has been planted in me and my parents hearts. Our hearts have been softened, opened, awakened, and dare I say, forever changed through a week of holy surrender to the moving of the Holy Spirit. I want to thank everyone who prayed for my PVT and who prayed for the Lord’s will to be done. He answered our prayers!

Please Praise God for:

  • Softening and setting aflame me and my parents hearts during PVT. (New revelations were had, uncomfortable circumstances were faced and love reigned.)

  • The numerous opportunities I’ve had to share the Gospel, pray with people and relationally love on people here in Guatemala!

  • My squad and their burning hearts for the Lord!

Please pray for:

  • A peace the just doesn’t make sense as I step into ministry in Honduras and open my mind to seeing next steps!

  • Mia Yoder who was called by the Lord to leave the Race and go home last Friday. (She is firm in the Lord, but was called back home this time for something different and unique for her life. Also pray for her intimate team who will miss her dearly as we head into the next country.)

  • For the Gospel to overpower me and my squad as we do ministry in Honduras (starting March 21st!)

Your Friend, Lia.
