“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call him, Immanuel (which means God with us).
-Matthew 1:23”

Christmas Eve: We held a Christmas Eve party/service which included: worship songs, a nativity skit, a message in Tamil, traditional Indian food, dancing and a Christmas countdown once the clock turned 12!

P.S. Holding my Saree carefully, I went on all fours as the sheep in our nativity skit! It was amazing “bahhing” at random moments and getting some laughs!

Following our Christmas Eve party/service, some of the squad went to McDonald’s. We took some pictures while Rissa and I wore our matching Christmas pj’s!

Christmas Day: Christmas day was filled with fun activities like: squad secret Santa, classic Christmas movie watching, swapping Christmas cards with my team, Christmas karaoke, white elephant swap (also known as ‘Yankee swap’ for my peeps)!

That night, we went to Christmas dinner at Jess’s house with her family!

Jess is a beloved church member who gives us rides, teaches us choreography and who works full time at the church and the Rohingyan school.

(Christmas Eve! All the girls wore our sarees and the boys donned their veshtis for our church party/service!)

(At McDonalds following the Christmas Eve service! As seen in the picture, Carter needed a couple of body guards.)

(As seen in this picture, Carter actually loves his body guards.)

(Christmas Day! D Squad is gathered in a big circle on the church floor on Christmas morning for Secret Santa!)

(Christmas dinner at Jess’s was an Indian traditional meal with no utensils, per usual, and a banana leaf for a plate!)

Merry late Christmas dear ones!🎄

As shown in the first photo, I’m so glad I didn’t miss a beat at home! You always manage to fit me in!

May the days after Christmas be filled with laughter, joy and the presence of the Lord just like Christmas Day! I love you all and hope you are feeling the Father’s great love for you.
“And this is true love, not that we loved Him but that He first loved us.” 1 John 4:10

Your Sister in Christ,

Lia.

  1. I love this, Lia! I can’t wait to hear more of the stories as told through pics ❤️ Miss you tons! Levi asks about you basically every other day and “wishes you were here but it’s good that you’re telling people about Jesus”. 🙌🏻 I have quite a few stories about Levi’s evangelism too haha I’m so thankful for your and his heart for the Lord!
