Over the past 5 weeks in Guatemala, God has used each to reveal himself in different ways and challenge me in different ways. Through His revelations and challenges, I’ve had really good days and really tough days. But every day has been perfectly placed to bring me into more of what the Lord is teaching me!

Fun

(Dance time at the school we taught in!)

It is the final week of ministry at the pre-k and English school and with that comes another series of goodbyes. I will miss my students and friends at the school dearly, yet I am eager to go farther and share the good news of Christ to a new people! It is time to mourn and time to celebrate.

“Parting is such a sweet sorrow,” as our beloved Shakespeare put it.

¡Hasta luego amigos!

(See you later friends!)

My team and Jess (on the far left) who works at the school and is the mother of the blonde boy in front. Caleb is the other little boy in front. On the far right is Olivia, a new missionary staff at the school.

Herman, Rissa and I. Herman is the janitor and was like a grandfather to me at the school. He never failed to smile and say, “¡buenos días!”

Kidsqndlaure

Lauren is on the left. She is the owner of the English school and is a missionary with her Guatemalan husband. She is also mother to two preschoolers.

Fet

I got the blessing of washing some of the kid’s feet and praying over them as a fun activity before Easter time. This is Allison who loves being a goof ball.

On another note…

The Parent Vision Trip (PVT) has arrived! My mom and dad arrive on Sunday, March 8th! PVT will be a time where my parents can serve and grow the kingdom of God beside me in Guatemala. But first and foremost, we will get to grow in the Lord together. We’ll stay in a hostel in Antigua for one week. I don’t have many details on PVT as our schedule will be told to us as we go, but I know the Lord is going to do a great work in all of our hearts. I’m so excited!!

Here’s some extra info I have for the coming months:

Sunday March 7th: We move to Antigua and parents arrive in the afternoon.

Sunday 7th - Friday 13th: PVT

Friday 14th - Saturday 21st: Debrief in Atitlán, Guatemala. (Debrief is an organized week of reflection, discussion and worship. Our last debrief was following Swaziland- so we will have a lot of time to reflect on! It will also be filled with “free time fun” as we’ll be near a lake!)

Saturday 21st - April 28th: Honduras! (We will be tenting in the mountains for the month! Our ministry will include manual labor as well as kids ministry. We are partnered with a local church and will be transported to town in pick up trucks!)

April 28th-May 13th: Back in Georgia, USA for our final debrief and other activities!

Please pray for:

  • My parents and I as we serve and grow together. (That the Lord would do His work and that we would surrender to whatever He is doing inside of us.)

  • To keep seeking the Lord’s will during the race and to allow Him to guide me for my next steps after the race. (Whatever that might be!)

  • For continued joy in the Lord!

Please thank the Lord for:

  • Giving me the opportunity to grow deep relationships with my students, teachers and Guatemalan base staff. Also, thank Him that I was able to share about my BEST FRIEND with so many people here.

  • The amazing Jesus loving crazy people that is my team and my squad!

  • The beautiful landscape around us that reminds me of His beauty.

Beaut

Thank you for being here, praying for me and journeying with me. Also, thank you all for being so patient with my updates as my phone service runs away! 0:

With lots of love and prayer,

Lia.
